The spring sporting events will officially begin for the Carbon Dinos on Tuesday, March 5 as both the baseball and softball teams open up the new year. The four other sports will follow shortly after.

Once again under the direction of manager Jeff Cisneros, the Carbon baseball team will open the season on the road against Cyprus. Following the season opener, the team will travel to the Pizza Hut Classic in St. George for a four game stretch. The first home game of the season will take place on March 13 against Provo.

Led by manager Wade Williams, the Carbon softball team will open the season at home on March 5 against the Manti Templars. The opener will begin a stretch of three straight home tilts to open the season.. The team’s first road game will follow on March 14 against Pineview.

The track and field schedule will include 12 competitions throughout the season, including the season ending region and state championship meets. The team will host the Carbon Invitational on March 23 and the annual Farm Bureau Classic on April 13. The track and field squad will once again be led coach by Jimmy Jewkes.

The Carbon boys soccer team, led by head coach Chad Cowdell, will open the season in Roosevelt in a Region 14 match against the Union Cougars. The team will compete throughout the months of March and April leading up to the State Tournament on May 1.

Sharing Region 14 with Maeser Prep, Providence Hall, Delta, Juab and Union, the girl’s golf team will start the season March 6 at the Mountain View Golf Course. The seven match schedule will run through the month of April, leading to the state tournament on May 7 and 8.

The boy’s tennis season will begin on Friday, March 8 as the team travels to St. George. The first home set will take place on March 14 against Uintah.
