Harold Harvey Simpson, 94, passed away March 12, 2019 at Castleview Hospital in Price.

He was born in Dawson, New Mexico on October 12, 1924, the youngest child of Earl and Margie Casey Simpson. On April 2, 1976, he married Norine Davis O’Halloran.

After his service in the Army/Air Force during World War II, Harold moved to Carbon County where he worked in the mines until his retirement. Harold was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America where he just received his 70 year pin. He was a loving, caring, gentle soul who had many, many wonderful friends. Harold loved spending time with his family, fishing and traveling.

Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margie Simpson, brothers, Clarence and Eugene Simpson, sister Eileen Baughman, daughter, Karen Shepherd, grandson Dirk Bierschied, step-daughter Sharon Murdock and step-son Doran O’Halloran.

Harold is survived by his wife, Norine Simpson, Price, Utah, children: Paula Simpson, Wellington, Utah, Buddy (Carla) Simpson, East Carbon, Utah, and Dean (Pam) Simpson, Fruita, Colorado. He was blessed with many grandchildren: special granddaughter, Kylie O’Halloran (Daniel) Whamond, Brian (Chelsey) Axtell, D. Axtell, Jeremy (Caren) Simpson, Justin Simpson, Tami (Johnny) Woodruff, Jerry Shepherd, Wade Shepherd, RaeLynn Simpson, Scott (Jamie) Simpson, and Teresa Simpson; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Harold will be greatly missed.

Funeral service, Monday, March 18, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post # 3.
