Michael Keith Axelgard, 79, passed away surrounded by family March 14, 2019 at Pinnacle Care Center in Price.

He was born May 11, 1939 in Logan, Utah. Married his sweetheart Deanna Ruth Rogers in October 1958; she died July 22, 2011. Mick and Deanna were active and involved, always. They loved to dance, ice skate and to watch them was poetry in motion. They lived in Utah, Idaho and Arizona where they enjoyed each state and made many friends.

Mick enjoyed the outdoors and his special place was the West Fork where they enjoyed many years with family at the cabin. He also spent many years at Joe’s Valley boating, snowmobiling and playing horseshoes. Mick was dedicated to his time with Kiwanis and he supported all the events. His special place was the Elks Lodge where he made many lasting friendships. Mick participated in all the Elks had to offer.

He had a unique quality of being a friend to all and he enjoyed each friend immensely. Mick and Deanna were babysitters to his brothers and sister. We all have many cherished memories of those happy times. They were awesome! Mick is loved and cherished by his family and a community of friends. In his last years, he had a very special friendship with his brother Scott and they shared many great talks over a beer at the Elks. Mick was a fine example of someone who never gave up. He went forward with life and worked hard no matter his challenges.

A very special thanks to Gopher Kiahtipes, who encouraged, employed and helped Mick in many ways.

Mick loved his daughter Michele and her children, Mickie, Mikala and Mikenzie. They’ve shared many memories together and he shared a special bond with his daughter. They spent many hours caring for one another.

Mick is survived by Michele Axelgard, Mickie Johnson, Mikenzie Felice; brothers, Wally (Leanna), Kevin (Bonnie), and Scott; sister, Julie (Ron); many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Deanna, granddaughter Mikala, uncle Ray, niece, Jessica Axelgard; and loving parents, Walt and June Axelgard.

In lieu flowers donations are being accepted at EUCCU credit union. On Mick’s behalf.

See you at the West Fork, Poppy!
