On Saturday, March 23, 2019, Genevieve “Jenny” May Richard Lyon went home to her Father in Heaven.

Genevieve was born February 7, 1949 to Wilbur Joseph Richard and May Genevieve Williams Richard. She married her sweetheart, Dale Russell Lyon, October 13, 1967 with whom she had three beautiful daughters, Melanie, Amber and Amanda. They, as a family, were sealed together in the Provo Temple, April, 1980.

The couple traveled to many places, including Scotland and Italy. Locally, they loved to take their trailer and go fishing. They went to the temple often as well. Many of these trips included friends and family members, with whom they always shared dinner and games. No trip was quite as meaningful, though, as the many visits Jenny and her sweetheart made to visit their children and grandchildren; trips that would take them to Northern and Southern Utah, then later to Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Missouri.

Genevieve heroically battled cancer for the past 10 years. She made it look easy, always showing a positive attitude, and offering loving words and an incredibly beautiful and infectious smile to everyone, friend and stranger alike! Despite failing health, she never forgot the Lord or her many blessings, and was quick to point others toward their Father in Heaven as well.

Jenny was known for her loving, kind and compassionate spirit. She served faithfully in several callings in the Millsite Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and contributed in many ways to her community, her family, and most importantly to her best friend and eternal companion, Rusty. “I love you!” were her final words in mortality.

Jenny is preceded in death by her father and mother, Wilbur and May, her two brothers, Ronald and Jim, and her sister, Vickie, as well as her Father- and Mother-in-Law, Charles Theron and Dorothy Dale Lyon. She is survived by her husband, Dale Russell, her brother-in-law, Gary Lyon, her daughters and sons-in-law: Melanie Melton (Jason), Amber Bonzo (Joshua), and Amanda Pulver (Clayton); her grandchildren: Cassie, Joseph, James, Anna, Kaitlyn, Kellie, Alex, Harrison, Quincey, and Aubrie; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service, Saturday, March 30, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at the Millsite Ward Chapel, 35 West 200 North in Ferron. Family will receive friends at the church Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Jenny online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
