The Emery baseball team took on the San Juan Broncos Tuesday, coming home with the win 11-2. Holding a 5-2 Region 15 record the Spartans found their offense in the seventh inning scoring seven runs and leaving the Broncos trying to play catch up.

Emery led by only two runs early in the game, scoring two more in the fifth. Senior Koda Alton had four hits on four at bats, with two RBI’s and scoring two runs. Brax Jensen, Kyson Stilson, Rance Jensen and Riggs Griffin each had one RBI a piece, With Brax registering a triple in the contest.

On the mound, Cade Brazier goes six innings giving up five hits and two runs one earned, he also gave up no walks while striking out nine.

Emery is securely sitting in third place in conference standings, and with this win gets back on track after the loss to the Richfield Wildcats last week. They have just eight games left in the regular season and will need to stay on track in order to keep pace with the Wildcats who sit in first place at 6-0 in region play and Manti who at 4-1 are in second place.

The Spartans take to the field again on Friday as they will again face San Juan for the last time in the regular season. Game time is set for 3:30 pm in Castle Dale.
