The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake Price Club is looking forward to a week-long celebration of National Boys & Girls Club week on April 8 through April 12, 2019. There are several fun activities planned and they would love to have the community stop by for a visit.

“So next week is actually Boys & Girls Club week nationally, all around America Boys & Girls Clubs are celebrating being a part of a great movement to make youth the absolute best so we’re going to celebrate next week by doing all kinds of stuff,” said Director, Olivia Dudding. The week is kicking off with an Open House on Monday, April 8 at 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm at 30 East 200 South in Price. This is a perfect opportunity for parents and children to stop by for a tour of the facility and to learn more about the program. A small ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 pm to recognize all the community partners that make the local B&GC a huge success.

The schedule for the remainder of the week will feature a service project on Tuesday, field day activities on Wednesday, an academic scavenger hunt will take place on Thursday with USU Eastern Students and the week will finish with a party at the center on Friday.

The B&GC organization provides a safe and fun out of school time activities for children ages five to 18 years old. “Our goal is to provide a space for youth to feel supported and have a great experience and have the opportunity to be mentored by awesome people. So, we have three priority outcomes – if everything goes right at a B&GC there are three things that we hope for and that is academic success, good character and leadership, and healthy habits. If kids come to the club, we hope those are the three things that they walk away with,” said Dudding. Kids and teens who regularly attend the club do better than their peers socially and academically.

Services offered in the after-school program are tutoring, visual and performing arts, sports and fitness activities. In addition to these, the teens of the B&GC get an opportunity to participate in life skills workshops such as financial management, conflict resolution, cooking skills, alcohol/drug prevention, college preparation and employment needs.

The B&GC is always looking for volunteers and donations such as food items for snacks, art and school supplies or monetary donations. If you would like to know more about the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake Price Club call 637-6066 or visit their Facebook page.
