“So, FutureINDesign has partnered with Blacksmith International Manufacturing and we want to build a workforce here in rural Utah. The opportunity to train a workforce and bring good paying jobs to rural Utah will benefit the community,” said FIND Representative, Brenda Adderly. FIND is a workforce development organization that focuses on underserved communities in Utah that are talented and looking for high demand job training. Their goal is to create 200 jobs for the community.

The advanced manufacturing program is a 10-week course offered four times a year. “You would attend two days a week, which those are three hours each session and then you are required to come in two hours during the week during open floor, which open floor is you sewing on the projects that have been assigned to you or you can bring in personals. So basically, we are asking that you commit eight to ten hours a week for the program,” said Adderly. Participants will learn soft skills in professionalism, hard skills in trade experience, get an opportunity for advancement courses, receive a certificate of completion and obtain college credit.
