The Desert Wave Pool is full of great summer activities like their wave pool or indoor pool where they have the indoor obstacle course available. There is something fun for all ages including swimming lessons.
“They run every two weeks; we teach in the morning. This year we started to do something a little different we have half-hour lessons and instead of doing a play date at the end we give everybody a day pass to come back another day and have fun so we want to focus on instruction and getting those kids comfortable and safe when they’re in, on or around water,” said Facilities Manager, Tamara Gray. The cost per session is $35.00 which is a total of eight lessons that runs two weeks at a time, Monday through Thursday.
Openings fill up very quickly so pre-registration is very important. “So the best thing is to if you call us we can put your name down but we do appreciate if you could come in before the first day and we can get them all in the computer, registered, signed-up because that first day with everybody trying to pay the first day is pretty hectic,” explained Gray. Sessions run as follows:
Session 2 June 17 through June 27
Session 3 July 1 through July 11
Session 4 July 15 through July 25
Session 5 July 29 through August 8
Other fun stuff taking place during the summer is the Teen Night’s held every Friday evening from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. “Next Friday we have Extreme Style Sharks & Minnows. We do water baseball, water dodgeball, we have canoe battleship that’s really popular and it’s for ages 13 and up and it’s only $2.00. So come and join us every Friday night after 8:00 pm,” said Gray. Various activities are planned each Friday for teens to enjoy, the schedule is as follows:
