For the last few weeks, Price City officials and the community have been engaged in a search process to fill the role of Price City Chief of Police. Current Chief, Kevin Drolc, has been serving for 32 years and will retire this September. “We appreciate Chief Drolc’s many years of dedicated service to the community,” said Mayor Michael Kourianos.

The search for a new chief attracted a solid field of ten candidates from several western states, four from the local area and three from Price City Police Department. “We were very pleased with the response and interest we had,” noted Kourianos. “A real indication of the interest people have in our area and in serving our community.”

City officials put together a panel consisting of a wide variety of community stakeholders—city council members, Price City management, Price City Police Department, Price City employee, and community member‐‐ who had input on the process, reviewed applications and presented the Mayor with their top two recommendations.

After further review and interviews, the Mayor selected Brandon Sicilia as the new chief.

Sicilia, brings twenty‐three years of law enforcement and first responder experience, twenty‐two of which are with the Price City Police Department. He also has logged over three thousand hours of continuing education experience in law enforcement management and training which makes him uniquely qualified for the position of chief.

“I am confident that we, as a community, have made a great choice, and I wish to thank all those who were involved as a candidate or as a reviewer. This is a very important position in our community and everyone involved took their responsibilities seriously and with the intent of finding the right person for the position and for our community,” stated Kourianos.

Sicilia will begin his new position in September of this year.
