The annual Wellington Pioneer Days celebration has chosen “All Tracks Lead Home” as the theme for this year’s celebration. The yearly event will take place on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20 and everyone in the community is invited to attend this family friendly gathering.

Friday evening kicks off with Dinner in the Park at 5:30 pm till 7:30 pm with a delicious dinner catered by The Cowboy Club. “Friday afternoon is the Dinner in the Park and that is going to be supplied by the Cowboy Club. I’m sure everybody knows about the Cowboy Club but Glen & Tammy do a great job with that. This year Glen has decided to do steak and a smoked chicken plate. So, you can get your tickets at Wellington City Hall,” said Police Chief Rory Bradley. Advanced dinner tickets are $10.00 for adults and $8.00 children with a slight increase at the door. Folks can stick around after dinner to listen to music from The Countdown Band which is being sponsored by Dr. Jensen high Desert Orthopedic.

Saturday starts off with the annual breakfast in the park from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. The cost is $5.00 per plate which will feature eggs, pancakes, hash browns and a drink and all of the proceeds will go towards the Wellington City Fire Department.

The parade will start promptly at 10:00 am on Wellington’s Main Street where this year’s Grand Marshalls are long-time Wellington residents Dale and Ardiene Norton. After guests can make their way over to the park for various activities, live entertainment and vendors.  “As soon as the parade is over go sign up for cornhole – that’s the sign up for cornhole is about 10:45 am. We have vendors, we have food, we have clothes, we have jewelry. I mean there’s just so much going on in the park,” explained Bradley. Also taking place in the park will be carnival games and activities for the kids. Plus, other events like a Fortnite Dance Off Competition, Horseshoe Tournament, Fishing Tournament at the local pond and all of these contests have cash prizes on the line.
