The Lady Spartans took care of Richfield on Thursday 3-2 to raise their region record to 4-0. The victory against the Wildcats sets the stage for Emery’s matchup with Carbon next week.

Led on the field by junior Alexis Winter with two goals and senior Teah Lowrey with one, the Spartans and the Wildcats scored all of their goals in the first half as the second half was a defensive battle.

Emery is now on a four game winning streak and currently ranked 11 in the 3A RPI standings just outside of the top 10. Carbon and Richfield are the only teams in the region in the top 10.

The Spartans are looking to make some noise in Region 12 as they head down the stretch as the game against the Dinos will mark the halfway point in the conference portion of the schedule.

The Spartans and the Dinos will face off next Tuesday in Price on the high school soccer field at 4:00. Emery’s next home match will be Thursday as they welcome the Grand Red Devils.
