The Carbon Ladies Soccer Team’s fantastic season came to an end on Saturday in Nephi at Juab High School. In a hard fought match that was 0-0 at the half, Juab would score twice to win 2-1.

Sophomore Josephine Kay and junior Shelly Peay would score for the Wasps and for the Dinos freshman Kacie Brady would have the only goal on the day.

This brings to an end a stellar season that saw the Dinos go 14-4 overall and 9-1 in Region 12 play. After dropping their first game of the season to Maeser Prep on August 7, Carbon would not lose another game until October 3. Over the course of the season, including the playoffs, they would outscore there opponents 89-22 including four games in a row where they scored nine goals per game.

Led this year by senior Gracie Broadbear who led the team in goals (35) and assists (23) Carbon will only lose three seniors off of this season’s squad. Broadbear, Kayla Barney and Katie Marshall will all graduate next spring and the Dinos will need underclassmen to step-up next year if they want to enjoy the same level of success they did this year.
