The USU Eastern men’s soccer team will be heading to Herriman, UT Friday, November 1st to play in the first round of region 18 tournament against the first seed Salt Lake Bruins.

During SWAC play The Eagles won three games, tied four and lost three. Overall, they have won five, tied four and lost five.

“Our team has made significant strides in the past three weeks. We had one bad half against CSN but the other games during that stretch we were looking like the team I hoped we would become,” says head coach Jared Woodhouse.

The beginning of the season was a little rough for The Eagles, but were able to finish strong.  USU Eastern goes into the tournament ranked fourth in region. “We play Salt Lake in the semifinals and Salt Lake is a very good team. I believe that we are going to be ready to play and fight. We certainly can win the game but, in order to beat a team that hasn’t lost at all this season, we will need to play our best soccer. I believe we are working hard and have a shot,” says Woodhouse.

Tournament action will begin for The Eagles at 11 a.m. this Friday, November 1st at the Zions Bank Stadium In Herriman, Utah. The tournament will be broadcast live on the Scenic West Digital Network.
