Harold Guptill, age 94, passed away November 11, 2019 after a long illness and incident to age.

Harold was born January 24, 1925 in Torrington, Wyoming to Archie and Florence Guptill.

Harold was a veteran of WWII, serving in the navy. He became a radar person and served in the south pacific and was honorably discharged after the war.

Harold met and married Kathleen Van Horn while home on leave from the war. After the war they made their home in Grand Junction, Colorado. He later moved to Utah to work in the coke ovens in East Carbon. He said it was very hard and hot work. Harold did this for three years and then went to work at Diamanti and Brazta mine and then Price River Coal. He worked in the machine shop at the mine and could do anything that was asked of him. He was a very proud member of the U.M.W.A. Harold loved to go fishing and hunting. When his family would say lets go fishing or hunting he would be the first one in the truck with his pole or rifle in hand.

Harold and Katie were married until her death in 1974. He then married Ruth Richard in 1976 and they were married until her death in 2008.
