The United Way of Eastern Utah is currently accepting Angel Tree Applications from now until Thursday, November 14. This program is open to low-income families for children in both Carbon and Emery Counties.

“So the best part of the Angel Tree is that this is a way for all of the families in our communities to have a Merry Christmas.  So on both sides of the way this game is played, we’ve got the folks that need the help and we have the awesome folks that are willing to give the help. So right now, we are right in full swing, right in the middle of taking Angle Tree applications,” stated Director, Cheryl Thayn. It is important that applications are received on or before November 14 due to the time restraints in preparing the database with all of the participants’ information.

Applications may be picked up at the United Way office located at 81 North 200 East in Price. “You can go on our website at https://www.uweu.org/ under resources on the very top program that comes up is Angel Tree, it says click here and the application is right there, you can print it out and fill it out,” explained Thayn. The completed applications must be returned in person to the United Way office which is opened Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Items needing to be attached to the application include copies of any and all household income received by any household member 18 and older (related and non-related). This means that paystubs must be current and include year-to-date earnings for that individual. A copy of your myCase (jobs.utah.gov/mycase) reporting the last 24 months and legible copies of picture ID for head of household.

here are some Angels that are ready to be picked out and you can do so by calling the United Way office. “I think we are at about 180 angels right now. Some of them have been sponsored out but I will have angels for any sponsors who want to call me at
435-637-8911, call me and we’ll get you hooked up,” said Thayn. The Angel Tree is a great opportunity to give back to the community especially to those in need. Last year the program was able to assist 433 children and 38 adults with Christmas thanks to the help from community members.
