Frank Marrelli, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on, November 12, 2019.

Frank was born October 9, 1930 in Price, Utah to Guiseppi and Isabella Sileta Marrelli. Married Margaret Rizzuto on April 23, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper, Utah.

Frank worked alongside his wife operating a successful Lumber and Hardware Store until she retired in January of 2007. Frank enjoyed a very full life. His accomplishments include initiating and directing the Helper Light Parade and Helper Projects Committee for the first 11 years as well as being instrumental in having Helper named Utah’s Christmas Town. Frank began his construction career at age 14 helping build homes in the Helper area. He progressed to a painter for the Carbon School District during his summer breaks from High School.   Following graduation, he served in the Army for 2 years. On returning to Helper, he was employed as a carpenter for 7 years at the coal mine in Castle Gate. He acquired his contractor’s license in 1959, built and installed cabinetry and remodeled many homes in the Carbon County area. In 1967 he purchased Central Commission and Supply which he successfully operated until his death. To the local community, he was a wealth of information in field of building and remodeling. He was also very well versed on the history of Helper and surrounding coal camps.

Frank was a member of his High School Reunion Committee for the Class of 1949, a member of BPOE 1550 and a member of the Helper Dinner/Dance Club. Over the course of his life, he was an avid gardener and supporter of Helper Youth Baseball.

Frank is survived by children, Frank J. (Linda), Linda (Darrell), Bob (Melody), Don (Micha) and Ron; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a community of friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his parents; brothers and sisters and grandson DJ Marrelli.

Funeral service, Saturday, November 16, 2019, 2:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery in Helper.
