The Carbon Lady Dinos opened the 2019-2020 campaign with a major statement, blasting through the North Sanpete Hawks 57-5 Tuesday evening in Mount Pleasant.

Holding North Sanpete scoreless through the first quarter of the play, the Lady Dinos carried an 18-0 lead into the second quarter. The Carbon defensive onslaught continued throughout the remainder of the first half as their lead grew to 32-2 at the break.

Senior Jordan Bianco led Carbon in the victory with 13 points. Junior guard Makenna Blanc reached double-figures with 12 points. The blowout victory allowed the senior led team to give way to underclassmen, allowing every player that suited up to see the floor.

Tuesday’s road contest marks the only game this week for the Lady Dinos. Faced with a heavy road schedule early on in the season, the team will travel to Grantsville on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Following next Tuesday’s road game Carbon will take the remainder of November off before traveling to Uintah to play four games in three days. The first home contest will follow on Dec. 10 against Union.
