The Green River Lady Pirates traveled to Richfield last weekend for the 1A Preview at the Sevier Valley Center coming away with a 1-1 record.

Coming off of a 4-16 season last year in which they would lose two seniors, the Pirates would bring back just one senior this season and a roster full of juniors.

In game one on Friday against Escalante , the Pirates would jump out to a 17-6 lead at the half. Green River would continue in the second half coasting to a 41-17 win.

Game two on Saturday would be versus a familiar foe, a team they had played at last years preview the Piute Thunderbirds. When these two teams last faced each other it was the Thunderbirds who came out on top 40-13. This time around the score was different but the result was the same, a 42-24 loss for the Lady Pirates.

Green River takes to the court again tonight at home to take on Altamont. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
