The Pinnacle Panthers opened their 2019-20 Campaign with a victory over Real Salt Lake Academy 81-26.

Real Salt Lake Academy is a tuition-free public S.T.E.M charter school located in Herriman. They are a 2A school from Region 15 in  their second season having a basketball program.

Pinnacle held RSL Academy to just six points in the first half to take a 43-6 lead at the intermission. They would add 20 points in the final half, but it was all for nothing as this was a game that was over in the first quarter.

Pinnacle was led by senior Jordan Thomas with 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting. Junior Christian Winder added 12 points and junior Mikey Vigil dropped in 11 in the rout. In all, nine Panthers contributed to the 55 point win, the largest margin of victory since 2013.

With five seniors returning from last years squad, the balance of the team will be something to keep an eye on this year with five juniors, two sophomores and three freshman. The underclassmen will be called upon for some big minutes all season long.

The Panthers will play host to Wendover tonight at 5:30.
