The Pinnacle Lady Panthers were on the road in Moab Wednesday to take on the Grand Red Devils, In a very close game the Panthers used a 16 point fourth quarter to get the win 40-38.

After three quarters Pinnacle trailed the Red Devils 31-24, in an outstanding defensive effort the Panthers outscored Grand 16-7 to seal the victory in the final quarter.

Grand is a 3A school in Region 12, which is also home to Carbon and Emery high schools.

The Panthers were led in this one by senior Stephanie Sasser with a game high 17 points which is slightly above her season average of 14.7 points per game. Destinee Andrews chipped in 10 and Kemery Stuckenschneider added 6 points in the victory.

This win puts the Lady Panthers at 2-1 on the young season. There are four games left until Christmas break, then they will return to play just three games with region play beginning  on January 14 against Green River.

Before that the Panthers will head to Magna on Friday December 6 to take on the Cyprus Pirates. The Panthers won’t play again till December 13 when they will host the Pinnacle Winter Classic, where they will welcome four schools and 13 teams with 26 games played over two days.
