The Emery Spartans and Carbon Dinos traveled to the Canyon View Invitational to participate in a field of 19 schools at a pre-season swimming competition Friday and Saturday in Cedar City.

Competing against schools through all levels the Carbon Lady Dinos finished 11th overall with a final score tally of 105.5. Emery finished right behind in 12th with 83 points. The two schools finished with the highest ending total of all 3A schools.

The Emery boy’s team finished 16th overall as they ended with 40 points. The Dinos were next in line with a final total of 10.

With the season nearing it’s midway point, the Spartans will take the majority of the week off before returning to pool with a home meet against Wasatch Academy, Canyon View and Richfield on Friday at the Emery County Aquatic Center.

Carbon will next take to the pool on Saturday at home as they travel to Moab to meet the Grand Red Devils. Next week the Dinos will host Union and Vernal before heading into the Christmas Break.
