On December 19 Ryan Nehl, the Supervisor for the Manti-La Sal National Forest will address members of the Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention general board. The subjects he will cover include the Canyons Project, Forest Plan Revisions and Bears Ears National Monument.

Nehl enjoys addressing social, ecological, and economic concerns on public lands and in rural communities. Nehl has been the Manti-La Sal National Forest Supervisor since August 2018. Prior to this position, Nehl worked as Deputy Forest Supervisor on the Malheur National Forest in John Day, Oregon, where he faced a number of land management challenges, such as the 2017 Rainbow Family Gathering and the Great American Solar Eclipse. Nehl finds that the most satisfying aspects of his job are stakeholder engagement, public/private partnerships, process improvement opportunities, and direct interaction with employees. Nehl lives in Price with his wife, Sherry, and their four boys.

BEAR’s mission is to inform, grow and improve business in the Castle Country area.

The meeting will start at 8 a.m. and light refreshments will be served. Each general meeting never lasts more than one hour.

BEAR meetings are held at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center in the Alumni Room on the USU Eastern Campus in Price.
