Joseph A. Lewis, age 72, passed away January 19, 2020, from unexpected complications following surgery surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 11, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Max and Dora Dean Bacon Lewis.

Joe graduated from West High school. Married Sarah Richards July 21, 1966 in Evanston, Wyoming.  Joe worked at EIMCO, Modyne and several small welding shops during his fitting/welding career of 50 years. Joe was lucky enough to retire at an early age to Spring Glen, Utah and loved living twenty minutes away from his favorite fishing hole. He loved fly fishing, ghost towning, hiking in the San Rafael, spending time in the desert and searching for petroglyphs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sarah Lewis, Spring Glen; three sons, Guy M. (Laura) Lewis, West Jordan, Jud R. (Leslee) Lewis, West Jordan, Casey J. Lewis & Julie, Magna; four grandchildren, Blake, Rooke, Parker and Jessica.

Honoring Joe’s wishes graveside services will be held in the Cedaredge Cemetery in Cedaredge, Colorado on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, Utah where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
