The Emery Spartan wrestling team wrapped up the regular season with a loss to the Duchesne Eagles on Senior Night at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Welcoming a solid Eagles squad, the Spartans had several close calls that worked against them in the end. In all the varsity squad won five of the 14 matches throughout the night, falling 54-30.

Thursday’s home meet comes following a successful outing against Union on Tuesday in Monroe. The Spartans, fresh off of an outstanding performance at the Rumble, won 11 of the 14 matches to cruise to a 57-16 win.

With the regular season now complete, the Spartans will turn their focus to the Divisional Championship Tournament Friday and Saturday in Richfield at the Sevier Valley Center. Those who qualify will then advance to the State Championship Tournament on Feb. 14 and 15 at Utah Valley University.
