The Third Annual Butch Cassidy Film Festival (BCFF) will be taking place on February 3 through February 8 at the Rio Theatre located at 210 South Main Street in Helper.

“So, the theme of our festival is Films of the West, but that doesn’t mean just western movies, it means basically any film that was either produced or made here in the western United States,” said Festival Co-Director, Ryan Piccolo. “We have feature films, dramatic films, comedies, documentaries, all sorts of films.” The mission of the BCFF is to discover exceptional independent films that depict the diverse stories and many facets of the American West; to educate, inspire, and entertain filmgoers from all walks of life.

Monday, February 3                    Half-Breed

Tuesday, February 4                    Powers War

Wednesday, February 5               Envelope E

Thursday, February 6                  Common Ground: The Story of Bears Ears

Friday, February 7                      Short Film Program (4 films)

Saturday, February 8                   Awards/Best of Show

The documentary movie Common Ground: The Story of Bears Ears was filmed in Southeastern Utah. “The film Common Ground it’s a story about Bears Ears, there’s been a lot of commotion the last few years about the Bears Ears Monument so it’s a full-feature documentary that goes over the process of what happened and what’s going to happen,” explained Piccolo. Everyone is invited to attend the BCFF with films starting Monday through Friday at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 5:00 pm. There is no admission fee to get into the festival, however, there will be concessions sold during the film festival.
