The Carbon County Senior Center is a great place to be as they’re always keeping their folks busy with the numerous services, activities and events taking place at the center.

“Services that we provide we focus mostly on nutrition, as well as socialization. So, the things that we’re looking for in nutrition, we offer a lunch here in Carbon County Monday through Thursday, we have congregate meals and then we also have mobile meals that are available on those days as well,” said Director Robbie Jensen. Meals are free with a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal. A monthly menu can be found in the center’s monthly newsletters. Any individuals who wish to have mobile meals delivered may contact the center at (435) 636-3202 to make accommodations.

Beginning in February the center will offer income tax assistance to its clients who may need help submitting their yearly taxes. “Every Tuesday starting the first Tuesday in February, February 4 running all the way through April 14, every Tuesday from 12:00 pm until 3:30 pm we will have two individuals that will be there to help individuals submit their taxes for the year,” explained Jensen. This service is being provided by the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments.

Senior Citizens can find the center to be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Folks can find many fun activities such as billiards, exercise classes, line dancing, and movies. “There is constantly something out there. If you haven’t been out to visit us at the Carbon Senior Center, I promise there is some activity that is waiting for you to try out,” said Jensen. Other daily activities that may be of interest at the center is ceramics and a computer lab.
