The Carbon High School Theatre Arts Department is excited to present its spring production of Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic & Old Lace. This play is scheduled for March 4 through the 7 and then again on March 9 at 7:00 pm.

“Arsenic & Old Lace is the story of two elderly aunts who have this gorgeous home in New York City and they rent out rooms to people who come but they’ve been renting them to older gentlemen who are just alone in the world and when they find out that they have no family or no one, they decide to feed them Elderberry Wine which is laced with arsenic and because they are lonely they figure they are helping them out and then they kill them,” said Director Mr. Steven Pay.

This play is a small ensemble of talented actors and actresses from Mr. Pay’s Advance Drama Class which is made up of older students. “That’s the fun of doing these plays in the spring is to watch a lot of my juniors and seniors that have been there since freshman and how much they’ve grown and learned, some of it from what we’ve learned in school but some of it just from working hard to get themselves where they are now and it’s really fun to see them jump up and take these roles,” explained Mr. Pay. The roles that some of the students are playing are a stretch from what they are used to.

“Tickets are again going to be available again https://showtix4u.com just like we did with Newsies so you can buy them in advance. Tickets sales are already open, we’ve sold tickets already and you don’t have to wait in line to buy your ticket; just print it out, come walk right in the door, and it’s all reserved seating again so you can pick the seat – just a very, very good program,” stated Mr. Pay. Reserved ticket prices are $7.00 Adults, Students (13 to 18 years old) $6.00 and Children (12 year and under) $5.00.
