The Emery Lady Spartans torched the Grand Red Devils 84-21 in the final home game of the 2019-20 season Thursday night at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Led by senior Hailey Allred, the Lady Spartans delivered an offensive clinic early and often. Holding Grand to just 11 points throughout the first three quarters, Emery entered the fourth up 73-11.

Allred outscored Grand by herself in her final home game in an Emery uniform, notching 22 points, six rebounds and six steals. Fellow senior Kiri Cook just missed a double-double with 10 points and eight boards, while Makieya Bertuzzi finished with 17 points.

Thursday’s win gives the Lady Spartans a season-series sweep over Grand. The win comes at an important time as Emery had lost four of its previous five games, including a three-point loss to No. 1 South Sevier.

Josalyn Murphy and Megan Zunich both posted six points to lead the Red Devils in scoring. Tenney Cook ended with five and Madison Munger scored four.

Emery will now wait the release of the final RPI rankings, which will come Saturday evening, to determine their first round matchup. Before the rankings were pulled from public view, the Lady Spartans were ranked No. 6 in the state.

Overall Emery finishes the regular season with an overall record of 11-10 and a divisional mark of 4-6. The team recorded multiple winning streaks of three throughout the season.
