The Emery Lady Spartans once again delivered a second-place finish, coming in behind the Richfield Wildcats in the second Region 12 meet of the season Monday afternoon at the Moab Golf Course.

Led by Angie Nielson the Spartans finished with a 423, giving them a four-stroke advantage over third-place Carbon. Richfield once again ran away with the meet, firing a 337 to extend their strangle hold on the region. Grand ended fourth, while South Sevier and San Juan rounded out the field of six.

Nielson once again delivered the team low score of a 96. Sydney Alton was second with a 107, followed by Madi Mann. The fourth score went to Macie Nielson with a 111.

Entering Monday’s meet four-strokes ahead of Carbon for second-place, the Lady Spartans extended their advantage to eight. In only two meets Richfield has gained an incredible 180-stroke lead at the top of the leaderboard.

Monday marked the second meet in four days for all six schools. The teams will now receive a 10-day break before returning to competition on Thursday, March 19 at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
