On Friday, March 13, the Utah High School Activities Association announced a suspension of all spring sports activities beginning on Monday, March 16 for a period of at least two weeks due to the ongoing prevent efforts with the COVID-19 Virus.

At the time of the announcement the Lady Dinos were sitting at 2-1, and were actually on the road in St. George getting ready for a weekend tournament. Unfortunately, weather canceled out the remainder of the weekend so Carbon will have to wait to take to the diamond again.

Below is a recap of the games played so far:

March 6:
The Lady Dinos softball team faced the Lady Spartans in the season opener in Price. Carbon jumped out early with three runs in the first and had no trouble finding offense as they took the win 11-1.

Carbon would send Brooke Moosman to the mound and she would go two innings allowing one hit and one run while striking out three and walking one. The win in this one would go to Tenley Madsen, who went four scoreless innings striking out eight and walking three.

Offensively, Amya Prettyman registered three runs on two hits with one RBI. Gianna Bruno would add two hits, including a home run, while getting two runs and two RBI. The Dinos showed what they could do with their bats as seven players collected hits in this great team effort.

March 10:
The Carbon Lady Dino softball squad hosted the Manti Templars at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Complex. The Templars drew first blood scoring four runs in the first three innings however, Carbon made  it interesting scoring eight runs in the second half of the game but would come up short 9-8.

Offensively the Dinos were led by Amaya Prettyman with two runs and two hits including a home run and three RBIs. Mollie Horsley added one hit and two runs and Graycie Hansen had two runs, one hit and one RBI.

Brooke Moosman went five innings giving up 12 hits, seven runs (four earned) walking three and striking out three. Tenley Madsen would come in and give up two hits, two runs (both earned) walking three and striking out two.

The Dinos had their opportunities in the game though stranding six runners and and batting just .207 for the contest.

March 12:

The Carbon Lady Dinos softball team began their weekend in southern Utah on a winning note taking on Pine View on their home field in St. George. Carbon struck early and often proving to be too much for the 4A Panthers and taking the win 9-5.

The Lady Dinos jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third, adding one more run in the fourth they would take a 6-1 advantage into the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth Pine View would find some offense and three runs of their own, cutting the Dino lead to two at 6-4. Carbon added three more in the sixth to seal the 9-5 victory.

The Dinos were led in the game by Lyndsey Madrigal, she collected three hits to go along with her three runs. Mollie Horsley also collected three hits and Bryton Kimber added two hits to go with two runs and two RBIs. As a team the Dinos had 14 hits with a .452 batting average for the game.

On the mound for Carbon, Brooke Moosman went four innings giving up four hits, four runs (three earned) while walking two and striking out two. Getting the win was Tenley Madsen, going two innings giving up one hit, and one earned run while walking one and striking out two.
