The Miss Carbon County Scholarship Pageant Organization will hold its Information Meeting on Monday, June 8 at Mont Harmon Middle School. Castle Country Radio was able to speak with Pageant Director, Kylie Howes about the upcoming meeting.

“So the meeting is kind of an informative meeting for anyone that is interested in competing in the Miss Teen Carbon County or our Miss Carbon County pageant. We’ll have the teen meeting at 5:00 pm on June 8, then the Miss Carbon County meeting at 6:30 pm that same day. Both meetings are at Mont Harmon and its basically for anyone who is interested in competing and a parent or guardian is also welcomed to attend if desired,” said Howes. This meeting will share all the details of what it takes to compete in the upcoming pageant taking place on August 8.

One of the things that are required of contestants is to have a service platform that they would like to bring awareness to. “A service platform is something that the contestant’s choice that they are passionate about. Current Miss Carbon County right now, Lily Vigil here platform deals with opioid abuse and getting help with that. So she’s been out in the community and with different groups and things talking to people about the opioid epidemic,” said Howes. The avenues are wide open when it comes to choosing a service platform, generally, it’s a cause that is dear to the contestant’s heart.

To be eligible for Miss Teen Carbon County, you must be 13 years of age on or before August 8th, 2020. Must not be older than 17 years of age as of August 8th, 2020, cannot be a high school senior and may not have graduated from high school, unless approved to graduate early.

Miss Carbon County contestants must be a High School senior and 17 years old before August 8th, 2020 and no older than 24 years of age on August 8th, 2020. Contestant cannot have been married, have a child and/or convicted of any crime.

Any little girls ages 4 to 12 years of age who are interested in the Mini, Little or Junior are encouraged to attend their Informational Meeting on Wednesday, July 22 at 5:00 pm at Mont Harmon. However, they must have their contract and information forms turned in on or before July 15.

Mini Miss Carbon County contestants are 4 to 6 years old. They must turn 4 years old on or before August 7th, 2020 or must still be 6 on August 7th, 2020.

Little Miss Carbon County contestants are ages 7 to 9 years old. They must turn 7 years old on or before August 7th, 2020, or must still be 9 on August 7th, 2020.

Junior Miss Carbon County contestants are ages 10 to 12 years old. They must turn 10 years old on or before August 7th, 2020 or must still be 12 on August 7th, 2020. (If they are 13 by or on August 7th, 2020. they will need to compete in the Miss Teen Carbon County Pageant).

The Miss Carbon County Organization is a scholarship and service based pageant program. The organization exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women to promote their voices and talent in their community. The organization focuses on service, scholarships, being a role model, morals and values, goal setting and becoming your best self.
