The Corona-Classic 3A Softball Tournament has been postponed until Friday, June 12 because of inclement weather this past Saturday.

The first two rounds of the 10-team, double-elimination tournament was expected to begin following a round of exhibition games Saturday morning. The competition will now move on without warm-up contests.

Friday’s opening round contests will begin at 12:30 p.m. as San Juan battles American Leadership on Field No. 2 and Morgan meets Summit Academy on Field No. 4. The second round, which features both Carbon and Emery, will begin at 3:00 p.m..

Created by Carbon High School softball coach Wade Williams, an invitation was extended to every 3A school to closely mirror the State Championship Tournament. Due to various complications, eight schools were not able to accept. North Sanpete, Grand, South Summit and Union round out the 10 competing schools.

The tournament is not sanctioned by the Utah High School Activities Association. It has however given teams an opportunity to practice with one another and experience one last competitive setting.

Below is the complete schedule for Friday’s opening two rounds:

12:30 PM- San Juan VS American Leadership, Field 2
12:30 PM- Morgan VS Summit Academy, Field 4

3:00 PM- Emery VS North Sanpete, Field 1
3:00 PM- Grand VS San Juan/ALA, Field 2
3:00 PM- South Summit VS Morgan/Summit Academy, Field 3
3:00 PM- Carbon VS Union, Field 4

Winners will play at 8:00 p.m. On field No. 2 and 4.
