The Carbon 12-year old All-Stars claimed the Southern Utah State Championship with a 4-3 win over the host squad Vernal Saturday afternoon.

Tied 3-3 entering the bottom of the sixth in the championship contest, Maizen Pritchard delivered a walk-off, bases loaded single, scoring C.J. Smuin from third. The win marks the fifth straight state title for the team.

The group will now travel to the Pacific Southwest Region Tournament in Long Beach, Calif. The regional competition will begin on Monday, July 16 and continue through Saturday, July 21.

On Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, the team will hold a car wash fundraiser at Castle Valley Car Wash on 1st North and 1st East in Price from 11:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m.. All money raised will be used to help fund travel for the team as they head to California.
