Mary Helen Grasty Garrett, age 89, passed away peacefully January 19, 2016 at her home in Price.

She was born April 12, 1926 in Cobden, Illinois to Jesse Otis and Gertrude McPherson Grasty.

Married John Ellis Garrett, November 27, 1947 in Castle Gate, Utah.  He died March 2, 1981.

Helen was a longtime resident of Carbon County and enjoyed caring for many families in the area.  She enjoyed watching game shows and playing baseball with her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by her children, Fred Garrett, Spring Glen, Ada (Jim) Downard, Phelan, CA., Scott Garrett, Price, Donna (Joe) Arrowood, Las Vegas, Donald (Karen) Garrett, Price, Dean Garrett, Price; sister, Maxcine Medina, San Cristobal, New Mexico; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ellis Garrett; grandsons, Chase DiCaro and Patrick Garrett; 4 brothers, Clarence, Jack, Raymond and Leo Grasty.

Funeral service, Friday, January 22, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service.  Interment, Price City Cemetery, Price.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Helen online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
