Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Roman J. Vega Sr., 67, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2016.  Roman was born in Denver, Colorado on April 19, 1947 to Frank H. and Aurora Sanchez Vega.  He married his soul mate, Isabel Aguayo on December 23, 1967 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Dragerton, Utah.

Roman was an avid biker and runner who enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, especially his grandkids (Deven, Brendan, Aaliyah, Savannah, and Daniel).   He loved barbequing and his steaks were always the best.  Roman enjoyed working in the coal mine.  He was known from breaking the world record for cutting coal in a 10 hr. shift World Production Record Holders on Oct. 1998 with 20 mile Coal Company in Colorado.  He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with 2 tours in 1967-1970.  Roman was taken too soon by the lifelong impact of Agent Orange.   He will be missed by all who knew him.

Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Staff and our family doctor, Dr. Glenn Etzel your many acts of kindness will never be forgotten.

Survived by his wife Isabel Vega, children, Michelle Vega, Darlene Vega Bass (Travis), Roman J. Vega, Jr.;  siblings, Anna (Abel) Lozoya, Catalina (Jesus) Lozoya, Frank Vega Jr.; niece, Pat (Dennis) Chavez; grandchildren, Deven Cook, Brendan, Aaliyah, Savannah Bass and Daniel Vega.
