The Annual St. Anthony Catholic Carnival will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium located at 22 South Main on Thursday, Nov. 3 with a turkey dinner, then continue Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 with Mexican dinner and all the other family fun activities. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Event Representative, Erica Kardelis to discuss all the details of the celebration.

“The turkey dinner is Thursday, Nov. 3, starts at 4:00 pm, ends at 7:00 pm. Its $15.00 for adults, $8.00 for children under 12. It’ll be roast turkey, and all the trimmings, and like I said take-out is available, but please do come and join us,” said Kardelis. The turkey dinner is the only activity taking place on Thursday evening.

On Friday the carnival activities will take place throughout the evening. “So the doors open at 6:30 pm. That’s were we have the booths, and the games, and the silent auction, and the treat booth. My kids always loved the best, which is the post office, packages wrapped up in brown paper, you never know what you’re going to get,” said Kardelis. There will be several food items to enjoy during the evening like hot dogs, hamburgers, kielbasa, homemade baked goods and fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Saturday will feature another dinner event, and continued carnival games and activities. “So Saturday we still have our regular carnival, all the booths and all the food. But if you come early, you can enjoy our Mexican Dinner. Now this year its going to be Chili Verde burritos, rice and beans, chips and salsa and that will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday. Which I love, I’m able to go over, get my yummy dinner, and then work my booth,” said Kardelis. The cost for the dinner is $15.00 for adults, children under 12 are $8.00, and again take-out will be available.

If anyone has any questions about the St Anthony Catholic Carnival can contact Kardelis. “You can always call me 472-8824 if you have any questions. We also have our silent auction, that will end on Saturday night at the carnival. We’ll also have our big raffle, if you want raffle tickets, we have some great prizes. We always have to shout out a thing to all the local businesses that support us. They’re so generous, and especially after a couple of hard years, its just amazing what they give us,” explained Kardelis. All the proceeds from the event help the church with operating costs and the church’s charitable donations.
