Milovich Bids Farewell to Eastern Utah Community Credit Union

Eastern Utah Community Credit Union President, Mike Milovich bid farewell after 20 years of service but not before receiving the Golden Bear Award by the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) organization on May 27 in front of employees, community members, business owners and government officials.

Milovich grew up in Carbon County before attending the University of Utah where he obtained a Finance Degree. He then landed a job with First Security Bank in hopes that a position would land him back in Carbon but it took him to other cities such as Spanish Fork, Salt Lake City, Vernal and as far as Rock Springs, Wyoming. It was after Rock Springs that he was then transferred to the Helper branch. Unfortunately, he was asked to move again but chose to stay in Carbon County where he began working with Zions Bank as a Commercial Loan Officer. After a few moves to different businesses within the county and dabbling in his own business he began working with Carbon Credit Union which is now Eastern Utah Community Credit Union.

Milovich has been a huge staple to Carbon County by serving on various governmental boards such as the Helper City Council from 1978 to 1982, He was also elected a Carbon County Commissioner in 1993 till 2012. His political offices allowed him to help with such projects as the Helper Parkway and Carbon County Events Center. He was also a part of the Helper Fire Department as an EMT, during which time as a commissioner worked hard to make certain the county EMS department received the necessary training and equipment needed.

After years of service both through the credit union and his positions with city and county he will be greatly missed but don’t count him out just yet, you will find Milovich in the community transitioning to the carefree life of retirement.

The public is urged to congratulate Milovich on his golden Bear Award and thank him for his years of service at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union.
