The Grassy Trail Riding Club will present the 66th annual Sunnyside Rodeo July 8 and 9 at the Sunnyside Arena.

Becoming a long standing tradition, the rodeo will once again take place with Sunnyside’s Community Daze over the weekend. The rodeo is fully equipped with all of the typical events, including bull riding and barrel racing.

“It is a typical rodeo, with a few extras for the kids,” said Grassy Trail Riding Club representative Evie Allred. “If you are a huge rodeo fan or if you just like to see one now and again, its going to be a very fun evening.”

The rodeo will begin both nights at 7:00 pm with the kids events that include Mutton Bustin and the Jackpot Jr. Barrels. The kids will also have an opportunity to participate in the action at half time with the Chicken Chase and Dash for Cash.

The rodeo itself will get rolling at 8:00 following the kids events, and will include the Jackpot Hide Race. The $50.00 entry fee for the race will go towards the final purse, along with a $100.00 added purse by the Grassy Trail Riding Club.

“We would love to have everyone come and join us,” Allred said. “It is a beautiful, nostalgic place to spend the evening. The arena sits up in the canyon and it gives it a real old time feel.”

Admission is $7.00 per person with kids six and under free. Each attendee will also receive a free program highlighting the evenings festivities. For more information on the event and the Jackpot hide Race, contact Allred at (435) 749-2059.
