It’s that time of year again for Price City’s biggest celebration of the year, International Days is jammed pack with lots of activities and events for all ages to enjoy. The three-day celebration will begin on Thursday, July 28 and run through till Saturday, July 30.

Kathy Hanna-Smith, Chairperson said of the event, “It’s been a fun year, it’s come together, we really nailed it I think. We got a great committee made up of staff members and volunteers, so I think it’s a good, good agenda.” There are several new activities and events that have been added to this year’s schedule.

“One of the new items we got is the Declaration of Independence exhibit opening on Thursday that takes place at 3:00 pm upstairs of City Hall. The artist display is brought to us by Gary Prazen and we’re excited to introduce that,” said Hanna-Smith. Opening Ceremonies will take place that evening at 6:30 pm at the Peace Gardens.

Hanna-Smith will make welcome remarks then make recognition and introduction of this year’s Grand Marshall, Tony Basso, Citizen of the Year, Mark Holyoak, Junior Grand Marshall, Quade Jones and present Chairman’s Awards. USU Eastern Food Services will be serving International Food Concessions to purchase, with live entertainment by Metro Music Club followed by Fireworks shot from Woodhill.

Things kick off on Friday, July 29 at 9:30 am with the Kid’s Parade which will start at the Durrant Field and end at Pioneer Park where the kids will be able to enjoy activities sponsored by Castleview Hospital.

All the traditional things that visitors have come to love every year, food, games, vendor booths will be set up and open in Washington Park. “We have the Plein Aire Artist at Washington Park. Plein Aire if you don’t know is artists painting out in the open, they are painting landscapes and we can watch and view them paint,” said Hanna-Smith. There will also be a balloonist, carnival, International Desserts by USU Eastern Food Services, Harley Davidson exhibit, new Auto, RV and ATV expo, video game tournament, ultimate Frisbee golf and laser tag. The annual Burnout Contest will begin at 7:00 pm on Main Street and the movie in the park will close out the day.

Saturday will begin with Lion Club Breakfast at 7:00 am, with 5K at 8:00 am, Parade will begin at 10:00 am on Main Street. After the parade community members can head back to Washington park for the car show, carnival, vendors, live entertainment, International Desserts by USU Eastern Food Services, Harley Davidson exhibit, new Auto, RV and ATV expo continue in the park. Saturday the newest event begins at 1:00 pm just north of Pioneer Park for the kids as Hanna-Smith explains, “We come in with a new item which is the Kids Derby. The Kids Mobile Derby sponsored by us but Jim Bethel is the one who took the lead on that, incredible man. So ages 7 to 10 you can register at 10:00 am right by Pioneer Park on 100 East and 600 North.”

The live entertainment schedule over the three-day event is Thursday, July 28 at the Peace Garden, Metro Music Club. Friday, July 29 at 7:00 pm Hypnotist then at 8:00 pm Jeff Keele Band. Saturday, July 30 at noon Shadows of the Valley, Los Hermanos De Los Andes TBA, Castle Country Radio’s So You Think You Can Sync contest at 5:30 pm, with Rhythm Addicts closing out the night at 8:00 pm.
