Price City’s International Days Committee is still looking for entries for the annual parde on Saturday, July 30 at 10:00 am. This is the city’s biggest three-day celebration of the year and they want everyone in Carbon and Emery Counties to be a part of it.

Megan Marshall, Chairperson said, “Parades are a wonderful opportunity for organizations, non-profits, businesses to really get your name out there and participate in a community event, the biggest part about is its completely free! This is free advertising and it’s a wonderful way to get involved and really give back to the community.” Types of entries can range from a flatbed trailers, vehicles, bicycles, walking groups, motorcycle clubs, riding horses and/or ATV/UTVs.

Participants should be aware that Chief of Police, Kevin Drolc has worked with the committee to set some basic guidelines for the parade in order to keep spectators and participants safe; guidelines can be found along with the parade entry form on the Price City website.

“The parade starts at 10:00 am, so we like to start check-in at 9:00 am. My check-in booth is going to be in the same spot it always is, on the corner of 600 East 100 South. But when you turn-in your entry form prior to that, which is available on Price City’s website, you’re assigned a float number and I send you a map in advance so you know exactly where you need to park; it’s a very organized system that we got going now,” said Marshall. Entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

Judging will take place prior to the start of the parade. “I’ve seen the trophies that Castle Valley has made up and they are gorgeous. We judge on quite a few different categories, there’s the Mayors Choice of course, Most Beautiful, the Funniest, the Most Festive and that’s most internationally diverse, it is International Days and that is what we want to celebrate; and then there is one more category for the Chairman’s Choice and that’s me,” said Marshall. The winners will be able to display the category and trophy they won on their float throughout the parade route.

Marshall stated, “It’s going to be huge this year. I’ve been involved on the committee for years now and this is by far, there are more events and new events going on this year than I have ever seen, I’m really excited.” Last year’s parade featured 53 entries and Marshall is positive she can beat that with the help of community members in both Carbon and Emery counties.
