The Carbon Dinos extended their lead in Region 12 with another dominating performance on the golf course Thursday afternoon, this time at the Canyon Hills in Nephi.

Kayden Alderson fired a team low 75 as the Dinos easily claimed their fifth meet win in as many tries with a team score of 311. North Sanpete finished a distant second with a 337, followed by Canyon View’s 344. Richfield and Juab rounded out the field of five in fourth and fifth place.

Ryker Smith helped guide the Dinos by finishing with a 78. Wyatt Henry ended with a 79 and Joey Penovich recorded the team’s fourth score with an 80. Brady and Ryan Gagon finished with a 92 and 94 for the two scores not counted towards the team’s final total.

The dominate win extends the Carbon advantage to 106 strokes with only one region meet remaining before the state tournament on Oct. 5 and 6. North Sanpete holds a commanding 99 stroke lead over Canyon View for second.

The region finale will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22 when the team travels to Cedar City to play at the Cedar Ridge course.
