The Carbon Dinos boy’s soccer team split two non-league contests, defeating North Sevier in lopsided fashion Friday, followed by a shutout loss to South Summit on Saturday.

Chris Park scored four goals to power to the Dinos to a convincing 11-0 win over North Sevier Friday at home. Diego Levya and Hunter Morrison added two goals each, while Adam Morley, Jamin Jensen and Kanyon Beecher each notched one.

Wasting no time creating an advantage Carbon scored nine goals in the opening half. The second half was a formality as Jack Jeppson preserved the shutout at goalie.

Unable to carry the momentum built offensively into Saturday’s tilt, the Dinos suffered a 2-0 setback to South Summit. The loss dips Carbon’s overall record to 4-6-1 on the season.

Brayden Staples and Zeb Farmer each found the back of the net for South Summit in the first half, putting the Dinos in a two goal deficit. South Summit goalkeeper Nick Beasley completed the shutout in the final half to end the game.

The back-to-back set wraps up the non-region portion of Carbon’s schedule. With only five games remaining on the slate, the Dinos will return to the field Wednesday at home in a crucial league contest with the unbeaten Canyon View Falcons.
