Our loving father, grandpa and longtime friend, William DeMar Hansen, 73, passed away peacefully at his home on September 7, 2019.

He was born September 6, 1946 in Price, Utah to DeMar and Katie Giraud Hansen.

Billy was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic School. He served in the US Army from 1966-1968 during Vietnam. After honorably serving his country, Billy began his career at Utah Power & Light as a mechanic where he worked for 32 years. Bill shared a tremendous love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting and trapping. At a young age he began trapping alongside his dad and in his later years he was honored to pass this tradition down to his son and grandson. Billy was an accomplished mechanic and outdoorsman who was admired and respected by all.

Bill was very meticulous and always kept a beautiful yard and garden. He enjoyed tending to his garden and sharing his prized garlic with friends and neighbors. After retirement, he cared for his wonderful parents. Bill loved and adored his children and grandkids and supporting them in their activities. Our hearts are broken, but it is comforting to know that he is no longer burdened by the terrible disease of diabetes.

Bill is survived by his children, Melaine (Eric) Mainord, Heber City, DaShell (Matt) Landvatter, West Valley, Chayse (Alisha) Hansen, Helper; his beautiful grandchildren, Kaden Pierce, McKylee Mainord, Presley Mainord, Sydney Mainord, Graycie Hansen and Miley Hansen; brothers, Eddie and Ryan Hansen; his grandfur-babies, Cooper, Ollie, Teeka, Meeka, Riley, Ash, Charley and his 2 cats “the kids”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral service, Thursday, September 12, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
