The East Carbon Police have identified a man whose body was found in East Carbon on Wednesday evening.

East Carbon Police Chief Sam Leonard said Marc Martinez, 54 of East Carbon was found by State Road 124 between East Carbon and Columbia on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Law Enforcement were called to the area around 7:00 pm after a friend of Martinez found his body near a secluded pond area that the friend knew was frequented by Martinez. Officials worked the scene well into the night and have determined there is no signs of foul play.

Family of Martinez had reported him missing three days ago stating that he had not been seen for three to four weeks.

The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
