The Emery Lady Spartans soccer club faced off against the Wildcats from Richfield on Tuesday. After a hard fought match the Wildcats came away with the win 6-2. Emery is now sitting at 8-7 overall and 7-2 in the Region 12 standings.

Alexis Winter and Nya Parkins scored the only goals for the Spartans in this match and they both came in the second half. The Wildcats (11-4, 6-3) scored three goals in each half on their way to the win.

Emery currently sits in second place in region standings with Richfield right behind them. The final RPI standings for 3A soccer will be out on October 11 and that will give us the seeding for the state tournament that will begin on October 12.

Emery next will face the Carbon Dinos (13-1, 9-0) on Thursday in Castle Dale. Carbon has wrapped up the conference crown , and if Emery were to win they would lock up second place in Region 12.

The game against Carbon will be the final game of the regular season for Emery. In their last meeting in Price on September 17 the two teams were evenly matched, however in the end ,Carbon would win the contest 2-1.

Start time for Thursday’s game is 4:00 in Castle Dale.
