Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Mildred E. McDougald, age 96, passed away peacefully January 1, 2020.

She was born February 3, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to June Bowen and Mildred Hickman.

She married William Dean McDougald May 29, 1948 in Queens, New York; they later divorced. Mildred enlisted in the Women’s Army Corp in New York on July 8, 1944. She later attended the University Utah, Achieving a Master of Arts degree in special education. She worked as a teacher in the Grand and Carbon County School districts. She raised her children, Mike and Janel, in Moab, UT. Later in her life, Mildred housed and fed her grandchildren in Salt Lake City, UT during their university studies. She is survived by her son, Michael Dean McDougald and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Janel McDougald (2011).

Funeral service, Saturday, January 11, 2020, 12:00 noon, Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple) Salt Lake City, UT 84111 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery (1342 East 500 South) Salt Lake City, Utah, 84102.
