Our loving father, brother, uncle and friend, Jeffrey Lamont Young, age 62, passed away unexpectedly January 20, 2020.

Jeff was born July 9, 1957 in Murray, Utah to Merril Lamont and Marilyn Olsen Young. Married Terri Lynn Jewkes November 14, 1980 in Elko, Nevada. Terri passed away November 10, 2013.

Jeff loved the outdoors, especially high country Utah. He also loved to fish, camp, and anything else he could do outside. You could always find Jeff in front of his grill, cooking up anything he could get his hands on whether summer or winter. He enjoyed stock-car racing, riding his mini bike and working in his garden. Jeff was a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan, having just watched his team on Sunday beat the Packers for a spot in Super Bowl 54 next month. He was also a Utah Jazz fan, and his sons just turned him on to Las Vegas Knights’ hockey. His sons, and those that knew Jeff well, will miss the way he made up his own lyrics to any song on the radio, the filthier the better!

He is survived by his three sons, Adam, Zachary and Matthew; mother, Marilyn Young; sisters, Sandra, Loralie and Ranae; brother-in-law, Brian (Carie) Jewkes; and sister-in-law, Carole (Troye) Davis.

Jeff was preceded in death by his sweet wife Terri, parents, grandparents, sister Collen Swasey, brother-in-law Ronald Jewkes and mother and father-in-law.

Funeral service, Monday, January 27, 2020, 10:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah.
