Although the library is currently closed at the moment due to the CONVID-19 virus they do offer some online services for community members to enjoy. Library Representative, Tawyna Kulow was able to visit with Castle Country Radio over the telephone to talk about the online services, late fees and free books.

“We have what we call Overdrive or Libby, those are the two apps you will need to download on to your device, they are programs that we have set up all you need is a library card, a valid library card,” said Kulow. “If you are not able to access that give us a call and it could mean that your card has expired but during this time right now we have decided for a month we’ll go ahead and sign you up for a month for the Overdrive and then you would have to, when things get back to normal, you’d have to come back in and we can have you fill out new card information and we can get you signed up for that.” This app will give you access to all audio or eBooks that the Price City Library currently has in stock.

At this time, the library is waiving late fees for guests. “We are renewing books even if they’re overdue, normally we don’t do that but we want, especially the children to have the books at home, if they don’t have any books at home, then they can keep ours until we can get everything back to normal,” explained Kulow. Other fun things you can find helpful during this time is the library is offering Storytime via their Facebook page. Every morning at 10:00 am children can enjoy Storytime from other libraries within the state.

The library staff is also showcasing a cart full of free books on their front stoop. “If weather permits, we keep it out during the day while we are here, so usually 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. It’s just some books that we have deleted here in the library and anyone can come get them. There are a few children’s books not very many, very, very few but you are more than welcomed to come get what you want so that you can read something new,” stated Kulow. This is a way to still interact with guests in a safe social distancing manner.
