Pinnacle Academy’s Stephanie Sasser and Benjamin Scott were both given honorable mentions for their performances in the 2019-20 high school basketball season.

Sasser, a senior leader on this year’s team, wrapped up her Pinnacle career by leading the team in both points and rebounds.

Scoring 16.6 points per game throughout the season, Sasser delivered a season-high 23 points against Water Canyon on Jan. 8. On four separate occasions she scored 20 points or more.

Sasser proved to be a dominant force on the glass, averaging 12.9 rebounds per game, which places her sixth in the state throughout all classifications. She gathered her highest total, 21, in two different games, and also finished with 20 once.

During her four year career at Pinnacle Sasser averaged 12.1 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Pinnacle’s season ended in the consolation bracket of the 1A State Championship Tournament 54-22 to Wayne.

Scott led the team in three separate categories as the Panthers accumulated a 9-15 record throughout the season.

Posting a team best 15.5 points per contest, Scott scored a season-high 34 points against Monument Valley on Feb. 8. In that same contest he grabbed 19 rebounds, which also ended up a season best.

Scott also led the team with 7.7 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game. These averages placed him among the most efficient players in the classification.

The Pinnacle boy’s basketball season came to a close on Feb. 22 with a loss to Wayne High School.

The 1A First, Second, Third and third teams, as well as the Honorable mentions were voted on by coaches in the classification.
