Active Re-Entry is a community based non-profit organization that offers several services for youth to adults. Coordinators, Chris Haycock and Derek Jensen both stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about the Community Integration Services.

“So the age range is 25 plus, to whatever age they can go up to, so that is to get the person reintegrated into the community, just like the name says, teaching skills and whatever skills they want to learn, we try to make those happen,” said Haycock. This is a service for individuals with disabilities to learn independent living skills, such as budgeting, cooking or whatever skill they would like to learn. The options and opportunities are endless as the needs of individuals differ.

The great thing about this program is it’s designed to accommodate the needs of the individual as Haycock explains, “Tailoring it to each individual but in a group setting as well because when they are with their peers, they feed off each other, and they learn those skills from each other, in a peer support type style.” The skills obtained can help individuals to become self-sufficient members of the community.

“Really, we are an Independent Living Center that we gear around all of that from low vision, to community integration, to youth to what Chris and I both do. We offer assistive equipment, toilet risers, everything that you need to still living independently,” said Jensen. Active Re-entry is an organization that is committed to promoting the rights, dignity and quality of life for people with disabilities.

Haycock explains how interested individuals can obtain more information about Community Integration Services, “So they can check the website, the Facebook page, we got an Active Re-entry Facebook page, Instagram, and they simply can just call the office at 637-4950 and talk to any of the staff,” said Haycock. Active Re-entry office is located at 10 South Fairgrounds Road in Price.
